THIS JUST in from today's monthly circular from MAA League officials:
"Fair play Awards: Notts FA have awarded Beeston OBA, Calverton MW III, Wollaton III, Wollaton IV, Old Bemrosians and Southwell Amateurs II a match ball each in recognition of the high marks for sportsmanship which they have received. These teams deserve congratulations for helping our league to preserve its good image. The balls will be presented at the earliest opportunity."
Well done Wollaton Thirds and Fourths for this recognition and also to Beeston, Calverton, Old Bems and Southwell Ams II. It's a notable achievement, particularly this season which marks the 'Respect' campaign to clean up football.
One month in and we've not known a season like it: not one lost ball in the canal at Beeston or floating down the Weir. Not only are we not losing balls we're now adding to the collection. Remarkable, the Chairman will be pleased. This could soon mean a ball each before each game so everyone can fire shots at Dale for the warm up!
